iSchool, Digital Asset Management

As our IT Lab began to produce more digital content than ever before, in the form of videos, images, stylesheets, and other media, I assembled a team to develop a structure and guidelines for a Digital Asset Management (DAM) system our content team could use to back up, organize, and track progress on their projects.

Using my experience working with the Dell DAM as a reference point, I designed a folder structure with consultation from our content team lead, and created filenames that would allow us to search for assets by fiscal year, format, and subject.

Although currently our DAM only exists in UT Box (similar to Dropbox), we hope to transition to an OpenSource DAM like Islandora in the near future.
